AMIGAS: ESTOY DE VUELTA, SOLO PASO 1 DIA DE MI ANTERIOR PUBLCACION, PERO NECESITO COMPARTIR ALGO QUE ME SUCEDIO HACE UNOS DIAS EN FACEBOOK, NO ESTABA SEGURA DE QUERER COMENTARLO, PERO SIENTO EN MI CORAZON QUE DEBO HACERLO. TENGO UNA CUENTA Y ESTOY EN VARIOS GRUPOS DE TEJIDOS, DE BORDADOS, DE HERMANAS EN CRISTO Y EL GRUPO: ESCUCHANDO AL DOCTOR STANLEY, UN ANCIANO PREDICADOR, QUE LO ESCUCHO (TRADUCIDO AL ESPAÑOL). HUBO UN COMENTARIO DE UNA SEÑORA CON RESPECTO A LA VESTIMENTA BIBLICA, EL USAR LA CABEZA CUBIERTA, ELLA HABLABA DE SER MODESTAS EN NUESTRO VESTIR, SER PIADOSAS, QUEDARSE EN CASA , ECT. YO HICE MI COMENTARIO DONDE EXPRESE MI FORMA DE PENSAR AL RESPECTO Y REALMENTE QUEDE ASOMBRADA DE QUE ALGUNAS MUJERES QUE DICEN PROFESAR SEGUIR A CRISTO (CRISTIANAS) ME TILDARON DE LEGALISTA, QUE CON MIS COMENTARIOS, OFENDIA SUS MANERAS DE PENSAR Y DE SER (MUCHAS FEMINISTAS). ELLAS ARGUMENTARON QUE DIOS NO MIRA NUESTRO EXTERIOR, SINO NUESTRO CORAZON, QUE EL QUEDARSE EN CASA CUIDANDO DE LA FAMILIA, ES COSA DEL PASADO, QUE TRISTEZA, ESCONDEN SU GRAVE ERROR DETRAS DE UN SANTO VERSICULO BIBLICO, ALGUNAS COMENTARON QUE VAN A LA IGLESIA EN PANTALONES CORTOS DURANTE EL VERANO, OTRAS MOSTRARON SUS CABELLOS TEÑIDOS DE COLORES MUY ESTRIDENTES, LLENAS DE TATUAJES, OTRA MUJER QUE VIVE EN HAWAI, DONDE TODO EL AÑO HACE CALOR, COMENTO QUE SE CONGREGABAN EN ROPA DE PLAYA Y QUE EL PASTOR DE ESA IGLESIA NO LE INTERESABA SU MANERA DE VESTIR, QUE LO MAS IMPORTANTE ERA QUE SE CONGREGARAN. ¿¿¿¿¿¿¿??????????? YO ME PREGUNTO: ¿NO ES NUESTRO CUERPO EL TEMPLO DEL ESPIRITU SANTO? ¿NO SE NOS DICE EN LA BIBLIA QUE DEBEMOS VESTIR MODESTAMENTE? ¿NO DICE EN LA BIBLIA QUE NO DEBEMOS TATUARNOS LA PIEL? ¿NO SE NOS DICE QUE DEBEMOS SER GUARDIANES DE NUESTRO HOGAR? ¿HASTA DONDE HA LLEGADO LA INMORALIDAD EN LAS IGLESIAS Y ES PERMITIDA POR SUS PASTORES O DIRIGENTES? DEMAS ESTA DECIR QUE SALI DE ESE GRUPO DE FACEBOOK, YA QUE ME INSULTARON, POR DECIR LA VERDAD BIBLICA. ¿SOY YO LEGALISTA? SI ANDAR EN LA VERDAD ES SERLO, LO SOY. (NO ME SIENTO LEGALISTA) SE QUE ES UN TEMA QUE TRAE ALGUNAS DISCUCIONES, YO MISMA HE DISCUTIDO CON MIS HIJAS CUANDO NOS CONGREGABAMOS EN OTRO TIEMPO, PORQUE NO QUERIAN USAR FALDAS, AHORA MIS HIJAS HAN CRECIDO Y SE HAN CASADO, YA NO LES PUEDO DECIR COMO VESTIRSE, TENGO MI ULTIMA HIJA SOLTERA QUE TIENE 22 AÑOS Y ME CUETIONA ESTE ASUNTO, NO VOY A CAMBIAR MI MANERA DE VESTIR O DE PENSAR, DIOS NO PUEDE HACER LA VISTA A UN COSTADO, CUANDO SEÑORITAS O SEÑORAS, VAN INDECENTEMENTE VESTIDAS A LA IGLESIA, ¿A DIOS HAY QUE AGRADARLE EN ALGUNAS COSAS Y EN OTRAS NO? ¿COMO SE PUEDE ADORAR A DIOS Y A JESUS SI TIENEN EL CUERPO MEDIO DESNUDO? HERMANAS, ME GUSTARIA SUS OPINIONES, POR FAVOR SIENTANSE EN LIBERTAD DE EXPRESAR SUS PENSAMIENTOS AL RESPECTO. BENDICIONES¡¡¡¡¡¡
It's hard to understand how people think these days. Even Christians have been very negatively influenced by media and others who do not believe in modesty. We teach our childrens and those under our influence the best we can, but they make their own decisions. It's indeed very sad.

Hi Ana...Yes, many professing believers in the modern evangelical church have come to misunderstand and misapply verses like "you are not under law but under grace" (Romans 6:14) to mean that there is no obligation for Christians to follow God's moral law commands in the Bible as they seek to follow the Lord. (It actually means that we are not to attempt to be justified and saved by trying to keep the law.) The Bible definitely teaches, in both the Old and New Testaments, that God's law and commands are holy, righteous, and good and we are to love it (Romans 7:12; Psa 119:97); that Christians, motivated by the Holy Spirit, should seek to follow His commands and not sin (Romans 6:15-16; 1Corinthians 7:19; 1Tim 1:8; James 1:25; 2:8; 2:12). In fact, the Bible teaches that, to love Jesus necessitates that we obey His commands (John 15:10,14; 1John 2:3-4; 3:24; 5:3; 2John 1:6). Again, we don't obey His commands in order to be saved; but once saved we should obey His commands if we truly love Him. It is a serious error to think that believers do not need to obey God's commands; the Bible calls that lawlessness (1John 3:4).
ResponderEliminarAnd the Bible does command modesty (1Timothy 2:9-10), which should be lovingly obeyed. And it takes the Lord's wisdom to know how to define and apply that. We would say that modesty is first of all an attitude of the heart that is humble and selfless; which in turn determines our behaviors and the way we present ourselves. In the context of dress, women should not dress in a way that calls undue attention to themselves, nor be revealing of those aspects of the body that attract men's eyes and which should be reserved for her husband. Of course, there's a small degree of subjectivity on where the boundaries of modesty would be, but someone with the discernment of the Lord can tell.
In bringing the issue of modesty (or any issue of Biblical obedience) to the attention of another person, we should heed this instruction from 2Timothy 2:24-26:
"The Lord's bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will."
Ana, I hope this helps. I am signing both my and my husband's name since he wanted to lend a hand in answering.

Believers are so swayed and mis informed on the true things it seems these days and so many are choosing to please themselves first above all. I think when going to any function out in public, especially church, one should look and dress their best.
ResponderEliminarModesty and many teachings of the Bible have become so controversial and it shouldn't be. God's Word is not outdated and people think those who obey it are legalistic. On Instagram many Christian women who teach Biblical truth are being called all sorts of ugly names by women who claim to be Christian. Its just horrible the persecution these dear sisters are going through.
